What is a smart city?
There is currently no set definition of this concept. Here at ALUVISA, we believe the concept of a smart city is intrinsically linked to the use of new technology to make cities more efficient and sustainable, mainly by using sensors to control as many variables as possible, analysing the data obtained as a whole, and implementing actions in real time based on these analyses to optimise resources for maximum efficiency, ensuring both financial and environmental sustainability. In line with this definition, smart cities need efficient, high value-added technology, with software tools that make this management as efficient as possible.
What does ALUVISA contribute to the smart-city concept?
ALUVISA has designed a smart platform based on ICT called Artic Smart City.. This platform allows for integrated management of all of a city’s technological installations (traffic-management systems, communications, sensors, public lighting, lighting in buildings, etc.) that were previously managed with completely independent vertical software tools. Artic Smart City allows for integrate management of many different types of installations, providing powerful tools for municipal managers to rationalise these installations based on criteria such as energy efficiency or real-time demand thanks to sensors and data analysis. Artic Smart City is designed to adapt to any environment, from installations spread out around large cities to cloud operations especially designed for small towns that don’t have a large ICT infrastructure
